This one is a beauty! A fine example if i do say so myself.

This chimney in Toronto had a crack in the crown, and unfortunately damaged the masonry beyond repair, resulting in a rebuild.
A damaged chimney cap, very common cause of leaks. This chimney was built in 1926 and incorrectly repaired with cement. This created further damage to the chimney which needed restoring with the correct materials.
After the restoration with the correct mortar. heritage restoration is so important to preserve the past for future generations.

The best example of a Georgian flat arch, correctly gauged with stone feature. This is the most technically difficult arch to build, as no brick is identical.
A good example of how bad the deterioration in a Victorian chimney can get. surprisingly it did not look to bad from the exterior, however you can see the mortar has turned to powder.

Another chimney built in the 1930 in Toronto, and you can see how badly the joints have deteriorated unfortunately resulting in a full rebuild.

Perfect example of what happens when you use cement incorrectly. The top six courses have been repaired with cementitious mortar, and as a result have caused the bricks to spall and fail, where the original lime mortar remains in good condition.
